Undergraduate Studies

Cooperative Education

The advantages of undertaking Cooperative Education are being discovered by more and more students. BMB, Micrb and Biotc majors are no exception. There are many benefits associated with Co-op: experience that cannot be acquired in the classroom or instructional laboratory, valuable references, and preference in landing a position with the company, to name just a few. A co-op experience is strongly recommended for students in the General Option of the Biotechnology major and also for BMB and Micrb majors who intend to seek a position in industry following conferral of the baccalaureate degree. Study Abroad

As with Cooperative Education, participation in the Study Abroad program is growing among students in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Those who choose to study abroad at one of the sister institutions included in the College’s Science Exchange Program will find that they can take a semester or year of study abroad without extending their time to graduate. Why should you consider study abroad? Ask yourself at what other point in your life will you have the reason and opportunity to live in, explore, and soak up all that is offered by another culture? The BMB Department makes every effort to use the credits students earn at host institutions to meet requirements in the student’s curriculum. Virtually every student who has studied abroad claims it is one of the most exciting and enriching times in his/her life. Check it out! Get more information.
