Current Position:

Staff Assistant to the Department Head.  Maintain Department Head’s calendar; schedule meetings.

 

Major responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the completion of Promotion and Tenure Reviews and Post-tenure Reviews. Schedule meetings and provide assistance to the committee as needed. 
  • Coordinate the completion of Faculty Activity Reports.  Distribute memos, gather information assemble notebooks. Retrieve information from submitted materials for various reports.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of department course offerings to include submission of course controls and one-semester titles.  Prepare/submit information to the Schreyer Honors College detailing honors courses to be offered. Assemble/ maintain records of courses to be offered, including syllabi and instructional packets.
  • Submit requests for evening and final exams.  Liaison with Scheduling Office regarding use of general purpose classrooms for scheduling review sessions, meetings, etc. 
  • Submit Instructional Activity Data (IAD) through ISIS.
  • Collect, compile and forward textbook information to bookstore.  Interact with publishing companies/sales representative regarding desk copies.  Maintain library of desk copies and related records on textbooks used. 
  • Monitor Student Ratings of Teaching Effectiveness (SRTEs) process. Assure reviews of faculty who are being considered for promotion/tenure are conducted, scanned and returned for inclusion in dossiers. Interact with Peer Teaching Evaluation Committee to assure that peer reviews are completed.
  • Compose, type and distribute forms, lists, exams, routine and confidential correspondence, manuscripts, course materials, and grant proposals for assigned faculty. 
  • Enter and retrieve data on ISIS.  Assist with drop/add, print transcripts or student schedules, and provide course counts/class lists to faculty and instructors.
  • Monitor the hiring of work study students to include verification of student eligibility for employment, verification of employees job availability, notify employers of changes in student’s status, update employers of changes in policies and procedures.  Complete and maintain file of I-9 forms.  Create and renew work study positions.
